Danger of laser pointers

I’m sharing the following Press Release from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists highlighting a Sheffield Study authored by eye doctors in our department that has raised concerns that some classes of laser novelty products, can cause significant damage to vision if used incorrectly, resulting in mild to severe long-term vision damage. We are not referring to laser devices that are bought in the high street and meet British Safety Standards. But high-powered laser devices that can be bought online or abroad outside the EU if misused they can cause damage to eyes.

If you have bought this type of device please dispose of it immediately; and please keep out of the reach of children.
