Optometrist Referrals via the Single Point of Access (SPA)
Current initiatives for the review/triage of Community Optometrist GOS18 referrals and appropriate direction of Child Eye Screening referrals WILL CONTINUE.

• All referrals for cataracts, glaucoma that have gone through GRR or CATS, and referrals from PEARS for an ophthalmology opinion must be sent directly to the patient’s chosen secondary care provider.
• Letters for GP information/notification should be sent directly to the GP, not to the SPA.
Please note that Emergency referrals can still be made directly to secondary care
